A Week At Sea with Douglas
When Douglas Flores reached a major milestone – 20 years with ODAD – it was cause for celebration. So we came up with something extra special to mark this occasion. We sent Douglas and his family on a week-long cruise, and catching up with him after his trip, it’s clear it was a blast. Just check out these photos!
The cruise embarked from Florida and would take the Flores family to the Dominican Republic and on to Puerto Rico. Their first stop was in Puerto Plata, where Mr. and Mrs. Flores spent the day relaxing by the pool while the kids were able to enjoy their own fun splashing and swimming. Of course, they made time to explore the local food scene and get in some shopping.
Their next stop: San Juan, Puerto Rico where they spent a day discovering Old Town’s history and architecture. Of course, spending an afternoon on a walking tour is a great way to work up an appetite, so the Flores made sure to sample some local cuisine as well.
Summing up his high-seas adventure, Douglas recalls how much his kids enjoyed life on the cruise ship, which isn’t surprising given the practically endless array of a activities and amenities – not to mention unlimited food – designed especially to keep kids busy all day so their parents could enjoy more relaxing pastimes like catching some sun in a deck chair or taking advantage of the many restaurants and stellar service. Not lifting a finger for a week is a vacation any of us could enjoy, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than Douglas!
